Dear Students,

Altera would like to thank you for participating in the Altera Nios Embedded Processor Design Contest 2006.

This year we had a record participation of more than 140 teams (nearly

500 students) from India, Australia and New Zealand.

The designs we received were very impressive.

The competition was at the highest level.

We hope that you will continue to participate in a similar contest next

year 2007 with similar enthusiasm.

After due evaluation as per the evaluation guidelines, we are happy to

announce the following winners of the Nios Design Contest 2006:

1st Prize SOPC implementation of Software defined Radio NIT, Trichy

2nd Prize Online Speech to Text Conversion NIT, Trichy

3rd Prize Multimedia decoder using Nios II Indian Institute of Science

The winning teams will be invited to the SOPCW 2006 Conference to be

held at Bangalore on November 16th 2006.

The teams will also have an opportunity to show case their designs

through a demo at the SOPCW 2006 venue.

Once again, Altera appreciates your participation in the design contest.

All other participants will receive participation certificates from Altera.
